Japanese Sushi Rolls in Traditional Form
Back in the Edo period, which is like way old-school Japan, like in the 1800s somewhere, folks wanted to grab sushi on the go. They started wrapping rice and fish in seaweed, calling it ‘norimaki’ because of the nori, and boom, the sushi roll was born. It was perfect for the bustling street food scene. Fast forward to now, and we’ve got all sorts of rolls, but it all started with that simple, genius idea.
Nori is an excellent source of nutrition. It’s rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, particularly iodine, which is essential for thyroid function. Additionally, it contains beneficial omega-3 fatty acids that contribute to heart health and can help manage cholesterol levels. Tuna Roll
A traditional Tuna Roll. Maguro Sashimi grade loin, sugar and sweet vin rice, and a sheet of nori.

Boston Roll
Boston always does things a little differently and this roll is no exception. Shrimp, Cucumber, and the (currently) only roll on our menu with lettuce. Somehow it all works. Maybe we need to consider putting lettuce on more rolls.
California Roll
Honestly, this is probably the first roll you or I ever had as our introduction to the world of sushi and it made us want more. Kani crab, Avocado, and Cucumber, perfectly balaned with a sheet of Nori seaweed and the sweetness of our rice.
Crab Mix Roll
Our beloved and traditional surimi mix in all it's simplicity. wrapped inside out with the sushi on the outside. Enjoy it as it is or ask it to be drizzled in Eel Sauce and Spicy Mayo to enjoy it the way others do.
Crawfish Roll
This cajun and Texan loved roll comes as spicy as it gets without adding liquid heat on it. Our crawfish is blended with our mix of multiple chilis and peppers to give enough of a kick to wake up the sleepiest tastebuds.
Crunchy Roll
What can we say? It's in the name. Crunchy Tempura and Surimi Kani Crab Leg wrapped in rice and seaweed, topped with more crispy tempura bits. Perfect name.
Crispy Chicken Roll
Golden, Brown, and Perfectly fried piece of Tempura Chicken with Cucumber, surrounded by rice and Nori seaweed.
Cucumber Roll
Sushi literally translates to "with rice" and the cucumber was one of the first items ever used in a sushi roll and we know why. It's crisp, and compliments so well with a small dab of soy sauce and wasabi mixed together. Enjoy this amazingly simple, and complex combination.
Eel Roll
Perfectly roasted and seasoned Unagi. refreshing and crispy cucumber. Eel sauce and Sesame seeds. What's not to love?
Philadelphia Roll
Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Cucumber, Nori and sushi rice. Seriously, there is nothing else needed to describe this hand roll. It's a favorite for a reason.
Veggie Roll
Blanched Asparagus, Avocado, Cucumber, our Sushi Rice, all wrapped in seaweed. It's enough to make you think.
Futomaki Roll
Translated quite literally as Fat Roll, Futomaki is a unique combination of Surimi, Japanese Pickled Radish, Tamago, and Asparagus. It is fat, and so is the flavor.
Oshinko Roll
If you didn't know, Oshinko is a type of Japanese pickle made from daikon radish. It has a clean flavor, and has no business working as well as it does with sweet sushi rice and Nori, but it didn't listen, and it works amazingly well.
Tuna Avocado Roll
Sashimi Grade Tuna, Fresh Ripe Avocado, Sweet Sushi Rice, a thin sheet of Nori Seaweed. There is literally nothing more to say.
Salmon Avocado Roll
The most popular sushi fish served with the most popular stone fruit? Dipped in a bit of soy sauce or spicy mayo. Enjoy the bliss
Cucumber & Avocado Roll
Perfectly ripe Avocado and crispy Cucumber are an amazing match in english tea sandwiches and in this traditional sushi roll. Just don't feel the need to hold your pinky up while you enjoy it.

The Spicy Kani roll is traditional with a bit of our East Texas heritage mixed right in. Hot without making your eyes melt, it has just the perfect level of heat and sweet.

Shrimp seems to go with just about everything. Avocado seems to go with just about everything. It's no surprise that they seem to go so well together.
Shrimp Tempura Roll
Hand battered and fried tempura shrimp, simply surrounded with our signature in house sushi rice, and wrapped with a sheet of dried seaweed for that little extra enjoyment of texture.

Our fresh spicy salmon mix is made with delicate salmon, chili pepper, roasted black and white sesame seed and other seasonings, wrapped in Nori and our signature sushi rice.
Sweet Potato Roll
A simple, but popular roll, the Sweet Potato Sushi Roll is a kid, vegetarian, and sushi senior favorite. At Ohayo, we take a fresh sliced sweet potato, tempura batter it and fry it until golden, brown, and delicious. it is then wrapped inside out, with a fresh sheet of nori enveloping the sweet potato and our signature sushi rice around the outside. drizzled with sushi sauce, you can't go wrong.
